McKinsey RTS Thoughts
Does anyone have any insight on McKinsey RTS in terms of how it is viewed in the rx space against traditional rx firms (I.e. A&M, FTI, Alix) and within McKinsey itself?
Any details on the type of work they do and exit opps would be much appreciated.
Hey Doszorros, I swear if I had a silver banana for every lonely thread I posted too I'd be richer than @compbanker ...
You're welcome.
My 0.02. Type of work is very similar to A&M, Alix. RTS executes large scale transformations and has been very successful. Main difference with A&M and Alix is the scale. Within McK it has gained a lot of traction, with a group of people only focusing on RTS instead of the typical management consulting role. This group has its own staffing model and career progression (similar but not the same to the rest of McK). Don't have visibility on exit opps. Would be great to have an AMA with an insider.
My understanding is that they do more large-scale transformation work, less financial restructuring work in comparison to A&M and Alix.
Does anyone know what the recruiting process looks like at the MBA level? I know McK Ops is its own recruiting process and staffing model, but you can go to any office, you're just apart of the Ops group for staffing. Wondering if RTS is centered in finanical hub...or only a few offices.
They only recruit directly for senior people. You would have to go through the regular recruiting process, do a couple of projects, and then join the practice. It's independent of the office.
Compete directly with A&M, ALix, FTi, getting sued constantly by Jay Alix, based on the lawsuits and summaries in the press, they definitely bullshitted their way through conflict disclosures. People still hire them surprisingly, even thought they have gotten sued and cut a number of checks on work they have done.
Overall they are insanely conflicted and will most likely keep getting sued by Jay going forward.
I don't work for Alix, cause i'm sure that's coming
