Need Some Multifamily Underwriting Analysts
Hi monkeys, hope your summer is going well. My firm is going to need some underwriting analysts. We're a mid market agency (Freddie/Fannie) underwriting shop. Previous agency experience is preferred but not required. Will teach you how to underwrite and my goal is to get all my analysts promoted to full blown underwriters as soon as possible. My last analyst was promoted from his start date (with no agency experience) to underwriter in 1.5 years. Looking for somebody with basic knowledge of real estate concepts and great Excel skills. You can expect a typical work week to be 45-50 hours in a very laid back environment.
Immediate need is in Orange County, CA with possible fits in the DC area as well if the candidate is exceptional. Message me if you're interested.
any idea on comp with someone that has 2 years of experience? Or are you looking for a more junior analyst?
Depends largely on experience level. PM me if you're interested.
Thanks for all the resumes. Just wanted to provide an update. Hired an analyst on the west coast and are still interviewing folks for the position in DC. Really impressed by the quality of candidates I received.
Do you have a social media policy that bans posting on forums? :P
Hired a second UW analyst from here for our DC office. Don't have an immediate need for analysts anymore but feel free to send me resumes if you're interested in breaking into real estate finance (CMBS/ Agency lending).
I was one of the people hired from this thread. We have an open Analyst spot after someone got promoted to Underwriter. Thought I'd try to bring this full cycle and see if there's anyone we can get from here as well.
Hey, that's really cool of you. Hopefully you find another strong candidate.
are you guys hiring from undergrad or is experience needed? Thanks
I'm open to undergrads as long as they have basic knowledge of real estate concepts (NOI, DSCR, LTV, Cap Rates).
about to PM you
is there any opening for NYC?
Nothing in NY unfortunately.
Since this worked so well last time, let's try again. Looking for underwriting analysts in Irvine, CA and Washington, D.C. Send me a note if you're interested. We hired two people from WSO last time around.
need any associates? haha
Depends largely on experience level.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, any additional insights?
Can you give some color to what comp an Analyst would make that performs well/about what you would expect?
UW analyst with no exp makes ~60k Underwriter makes ~80-100k (2+ yr exp) Sr underwriter makes 120k+ (5+ yr exp) Manager makes 150-200k (7+ yr exp) Director makes 250-400k (10+ yr exp)
I know titles can be weird in RE, could directors at agency shops be originators or underwriters? Thats how it is at my bank. Any color on originators pay at agency shops and GSE's?
