Organizing written notes by companies

Hi chimps,

I've been just recently hired for my first job in finance and I'm having some trouble organizing my notes.

Everyday there are meetings, calls, readings etc on so many different companies I cover that taking notes in a single notebook gets messy. My fear is that taking notes on different topics without any organization system will make it impossible for me to track down the information on a later date when i most need it or make it difficult to review and refresh on a specific company.

Any tips on how do you organize your written notes so you always get it together by company? I was thinking on having a different notebook for each company but it seems like it will only work for so long...

Thanks in advance.

if you like paper ... http://www.levenger.com/circa-plastic-tab-dividers-white-core-5598.aspx

but since you will be putting that information to use via a software for your reports and models in any case then it would be preferable to note the information in One Note or an excel workbook

as long as you can note information for each stock/market/economy separately and chronologically you should be safe, some research states hand written notes are more useful since writing takes more effort people put in only the necessary information and are more careful when taking down notes in order to keep the notes taken clear and easy to understand

Thanks guys, I have never heard of Onenote before but I'll give it a try and report back

Any other tips on how to stay organized??
