Oxford MFE or Columbia Master of Accounting and Fundamental Analysis

Hi all,

Just got admitted to Oxford MFE and Columbia Master of Accounting and Fundamental Analysis Program (a newly opened program in 2017). Debating which one to go.

I am gonna graduate from a Target undergrad and have BB IBD internship in APAC this summer. I want to use the Master to go for another round of recruiting. I will be looking for buy-side opportunities (PE, REPE and investment fund in particular).

I am okay with working anywhere.

One thing I notice is that Oxford MFE is 1 year program, meaning that I will be looking for full time job right after enrollment. However, Columbia Master of Accounting and Fundamental Analysis Program can be 1.5 year, giving me another shot for summer analyst recruitment (which I assume it's less competitive and has more opening than FT recruiting?)

Another note is that Master of Accounting and Fundamental Analysis Program is very new. This year is literally their first intake, not sure about the selectivity and quality of applications and the reputation of the program in the future.

Thx a million!!!

So what if a person wanted to work in an NYC boutique to mid tier investment house, would this new Masters help them?

Lol @ master of nothing.

Columbia MS programs are cash cow tools. They're basically cashing the Columbia name by selling overpriced piece of paper to mostly Asians(because they're brand whores). Choose Oxford if you want to learn something and a challenging career and London isn't that bad and then you can ask for internal tranfer to US after a few years.
