Passing the Torch : Dr. J > Magic > MJ > Kobe > Durant. Lets argue.

Julius Erving passed it to Magic > Jordan > Kobe and when 24 hangs his kicks, it will be - not can be, or should be - it will be Kevin Durant.

Bron dropped the torch when he ditched cleveland

Marketing ploy.....you do know LJ is the reigning BACK to BACK mvp champ right? Who gives a shit if he left cleveland, I would have too. The guy went where he could WIN. Its not his fault Cleveland couldn't get him anybody to pick up the slack when he's not on. Magic always had a team, Kobe always had a team, MJ always had a team, Lebron had.....Mo Williams and Big Z???? If he winds up averaging a triple double and gets 2 rings out of the next four everybody will be ooing and aahing.

Durant is fucking incredible and could be better in the long run but no he's not the best in the league right now. Individual talent is Lebron and we'll see if he has the heart to win rings soon. Kobe is still the leagues best but I've got a feeling that's not going to last too much longer.

He may be the MVP, but he's unfortunately the champ of nothing.

That's because he played in CLEVELAND where his team consisted of nobody. Hmmm I think there was a period of time where Kobe didn't win any championships....oh yea thats when he didn't have Shaq or Pau Gasol! Kobe won championships because he had good players around him and in return that made him that much more dominant. Oh and by the way, Kobe was FAR from the MVP of this past playoffs. In the finals he choked. Kobe, MJ, Magic (especially) all had good players around them. Kobe is a prime example of when he doesn't have talent he couldn't get it done. However when he does he's incredible. Simply put Cleveland wasn't going to give James anybody to play with who is a real 2nd man, not a washed up Jamison. I really don't understand why everybody harps on James for no rings, yet all the greats they talk about probably wouldn't have won rings with a shitty team either, a la Kobe. Either way I can't prove that, it's just what I think. What I do know, is that all the "greats" had much better teams than Lebrons'. Therefore he left for Miami. Good for him.

LBJ is the most athletic player in the history of basketball. not really overrated.

and I dont believe the torch thing either, Jordan didnt get it from Magic, he owns it.

Kobe is still the best (skilled) player but not the best player overall.

LBJ is the best as of now, although I do see KD taking it in the near future.

It might be good to see Durant win a playoff series, or heck maybe an NBA Finals, before anointing him the next superstar. Also, Dr. J didn't ever win squat in the NBA - most his accomplishments were in the watered-down ABA. Highlight reel player, but closer to Dominique Wilkins than Magic/Bird/MJ/Kobe.

Haha, Lebron is not as good as the following: Dwayne Wade, Kevin Durant, Kobe, shit even Paul Pierce. Athleticism does not equal good leadership, amazing skill against also-rans does not make one clutch, or the "King". Fact of the matter is he will never be a leader on a team again, he never deserved to be, he is a spoiled brand that never knew difficulty on the court and it takes HUNGER to win it all. Hunger he doesn't have, but Wade might give him some now.

Look at all em big mouths talking athletics n shit as if its holy grail in basketball. sure lebron can run and jump...but so can deers and they dont play basketball.

No outside range ; not a reliable jumpshot ; above all, not a competitor.

regarding "MJ always had a team" : That's not true. Scottie Pippen was a NOBODY before MJ. It was Jordan (and to some extent Phil Jackson) who empowered the crew around him to rise to the occasion and deliver.

Whoever said bron is the best right now......talking to me after 5 rings....make that 6.

btw, didnt say Kd is the man right now. said when kobe is said n done (3-4 yrs), kevin durant will be the face of the league. Natural scorer ; legit jumpshot ; outstanding team player ; humble.

that whole thing he did , getting on tv to announce he's leaving CLE, that's low. That's like getting on national TV to dump ur gf. I'm not a cleveland guy or fan, ...but i know one thing for damn sure : u'd never catch me wearing a bron shirt. he's a wuss.

on a side note, here's lesson of the summer 2010 free agent class : STAY IN SCHOOL

Lebron: Gr 12 Bosh: 1 year @ GA tech wade : 2 years @ Marquette

Smartest guy convinced his stupid friend to play for him for lesser money. And Chis fuckin bosh, ....luckiest nicca in nba. Cant wait to see dwight howard man-handle him in post ; or bosh surrounded by perkins, shaq, glen davis, J Oneal and KG.

see ya @ the lakers parade on June 27, 2011.

Hmmmmm:
WOW it takes you to name 5 of them when you just wanna shit on LeBron. Man the fuck up.

those 5 are to provide a historical context. And how NBA and some media outlets wanted Lebron to be The Next Guy. Because of what he did, he will not be that guy. He can win all he wants, it does not matter. That's Wade's team. Thats my point.

And if you got nothing to say regarding b'ball : Shut the fuck up.
