Irving Place Capital is legit.
Source: i work in sell-side M&A with those guys on a few deals.
Agree on Irving Place. Had them in a sell-side process once and they seemed like sharp guys (basically asked all the right questions that we/the sponsor were prepping management on how to sugarcoat). One of their associates just started at HBS this fall.
Both are solid MM firms. Searchlight is newer so doesn't have the track record or brand name but they've done some interesting deals and their founding principals are all top notch.

Anyone know anything about this firm? Recruiting process, interviews, etc.
They (used to?) have some sort of sourcing program, like how a VC or growth equity firm operates, where junior guys would look for investments. I don't know if they still do, and it might not be the role that you're interviewing for, but figured it was worth noting.
Wanted to bump this again - any information on their recruiting process? HH used, etc?
