You don’t go there to “exit” and it’s separate from M&A/restructuring/Park Hill. The work is much more qualitative and while the all-in comp is lower, the lifestyle is a lot more chill and I haven’t heard any complaints from juniors there. It’s not a PE/HF feeder like some of the other groups; people typically stay, go to a similar role at a competitor or move into an adjacent field like IR at a company or fund. From what I’ve heard though they’re pretty the premiere player in the space, they’ve got some ridiculous success rate against campaigns by Elliott/TP/Icahn etc. you just don’t hear about it because their clients don’t want to disclose they’ve hired them.
