PNC 2021 SA
Just applied for 2021 SA for PNC banking/capital markets. Don’t see much data on wso or Glassdoor about this group at PNC. Anyone have insights on how competitive this program is (I’m 3.6 Econ at HYP), the culture, comp, exit opps, etc.?
bump
I think since Harris Williams is a subsidiary, then comp may be on par with street.
They also have PNC debt capital markets- functions under their corporate banking division- which isn't Harris Williams. OP may be referring to that...
I went through the program a couple of summers ago. Even though I didn’t get FT, can say it was a great experience in Capital Markets.
They give interviews to a bunch of folks and dont focus too much on schooling (fair share of HYP, but a lot of Northwestern, Indiana, Emory, Notre Dame)
Interview process isn’t too difficult but you compete with thousands of kids. They care more about your personality and how you answer behavioral more than spitting back the techs(but definitely know your accounting and basic finance questions as they check the box)
When I was at the Superday in Pittsburgh there were hundreds of kids who made it to final round and there were only a dozen capital markets SA who made the cut. Only half of them got FT.
Capital Markets has a few segments Derivatives Fixed Income Foreign Exchange And they were talking about adding FIG too
Culture is great, everyone is very nice but they expect a lot. It’s a Wall Street size bank that’s based in Pittsburgh so you get a nice intersection of motivated and hard working mixed with decent people.
That said, they are very very selective and there is no wasted space.
Heard that exit opps are pretty good
Honestly surprised they don’t get mentioned more on here

Anyone get first rounds yet? Anybody have insight on the recruiting timeline?
I just received a hirevue. Idk if that counts as a first round though
Has anyone done the hirevue
I'm doing one today. I'm trying to find questions but preparing for all types. hopefully it's behavioral
I just had it. It was quite long. 11 questions. 9 were video. All behavioral. Like Why PNC, tell me a time when.... Those types
Lmao did mine recently and it said the estimated time was 15 minutes. Took me over an hour cause I just use the first try to write stuff down and actually answer for the second one.
Did you end up hearing back?
Yea, that was heinous. I ended up getting an offer from them.
Have any of you all heard back yet?
I got invited to the super day for capital markets.
Hey congrats me too
Mine didn't go well, doubt I'll hear back. Best of luck to everyone else.
Hey man we have all be there, keep grinding.
Still havent heard anything from hirevue
Just got first round (phone screen) for FT. Anyone know if it's primarily behavioral / technical?
Hmm, thats strange. I never got a phone screening, went straight from Hirevue to Superday
Same, which group did you get an invite for?
