Random Drug Testing for Interns?
Next week I'm starting a summer internship at a BB (NYC, back office). There was no mention of any drug testing anywhere in the offer letter or from HR. Since they never mentioned anything about a drug test, it's safe to say that there won't be a drug test right? I smoked some weed today (honestly the first time I've ever done it) and now I'm a little bit worried.
BTW I searched the forums and there were a lot of posts about "drug testing", but nothing specifically related to randomized drug testing.
No randomized drug testing. Unusual though you weren't tested prior to the internship.
Hahaha
A friend of mine @ RJ (intern, freshman year) had to take a drug test.
As long as you arent fucking up and doing a shitty job at work they shouldnt drug test you, banks know that drug use is common in the industry due to the job itself. The problem for banks with random drug testing in the high finance divisions is they cant call it random drug testing and then only test the analysts and interns they would get sued so much for that. Its not worth the risk to loose their top tallent over something a trivial as a drug test.
LargeP, did you end up getting a random test? I'm in the same situation for this summer and it'd be great to know what happened with your case.

I would like see what people have experienced random drug testing in the financial world.
I'm not working in finance, but I don't know of a single person working on Wall Street who has been randomly drug tested.
I work for a rating agency and like to partake in Mary Jane every now and then. They did administer a pre-employment test, should I be concerned moving forward?
