Recruiting for MGG advice
I'm currently looking into recruiting for McKinsey/Goldman Sachs/Google summer internships and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to recruit across industries?
I figured that when it comes to what is most helpful for a starting position, the name brand matters a lot more than what industry I'm in. So i'm recruiting for the top firms in each industry.
At the same time, it's been hard trying to prep for such diverse industries and was wondering if anyone had advice
This is idiotic. There’s no tangible difference between working at GS vs MS/JPM or McKinsey vs Bain/BCG. I’ve seen people successfully recruit for 2 industries (ie banking and consulting or consulting and tech), but any more than that and you’ll be stretched way too thin and will strike out everywhere. Pick one thing (or maybe 2) that actually interest you and go from there
What in the fuck is this lmao. Pick 2. Like the other dude said. I hope you’re at least at a target the way you talk. Explains some of the misguided logic you have
This is the future. Interviewing across industries is the only way to be a well-rounded applicant. However, I would recommend that you instead recruit for BAM (Bain/Apple/Morgan Stanley) as they value cross-industry knowledge. Good luck in the interview process. Let me know if you need help with case studies, LBO technicals, or coding questions.
