Richard Ivey + BCS or DD Waterloo CS + BBA at Laurier

Hello WSO!
I'm contemplating about which program i should accept:
1) CS for year 1 and 2, then Ivey for year 3 and 4 (and possibly 5 years for double degree)
2) Double Degree at Waterloo CS and BBA at Laurier for 5 years

Initially i was very focused on business, but after recognizing the advancing technological sectors, i'm now very neutral on which one i want to focus on.

Also, i've heard that the Ivey graduates are having a difficulty finding jobs due to the increased number of graduates, and it has lost some of its prestigious reputation.

I really do value the CO-OP experience offered at Waterloo, which Ivey does not offer.

ps. what are some career paths options with double degree in CS and business?

WSO, HELP!!! any comments and/or suggestions are appreciated :)

I think a MS in Management may be an intermediate option. They're often pre-experience business degrees, as opposed to post-experience MBA programs. You could do your STEM degree either way. Not the best if you want to pursue MBA (similar courses) but a good option still.

I know Waterloo carries a heavy brand in STEM, a friend of mine (EE) was paid to work in California. Ivey isn't too bad either, at least the business side. I just dont know much. Also I think Ivey is good--but may not be as good as US target schools.

You could also run as a STEM major with some business courses / minor. You can still apply to business jobs without a major, but you'd find it harder to apply to CS jobs without a hard science degree

First of all, congrats on the offers. In my opinion this one boils down to where you see yourself in the future. I know Richard Ivey blows Laurier out of the water in terms of business placements (they send a bunch of ppl to BBs and EBs every year), but Waterloo comsci destroys Western comsci. You should make a decision now in terms of where you'd like to be after college because business and comsci are 2 completely different paths. I'm also a senior in highschool trying to decide on a college and I understand how tough it can be.
