Spread collar and 3 inch tie okay for IB analyst interview?

Do BB or MM IB shops in NYC give a shit if you wear a spread collar to an interview for an analyst role? Would 3 inch ties be too thin?

Just trying to cover my bases, wouldn't be surprised if I get dinged for something ridiculous.

Read similar posts but they address once you're a full-time monkey, not for interviews. I'll be top bucket so not too worried about what to wear when I'm in...yes, that's a joke.

Spread and semi-spread collars are generally fine, just don't go with a cutaway or anything of that sort. As for tie width, 3 inches is perfectly fine and a pretty standard width. Wouldn't push it with a skinny tie though imo.

Main thing you should be concerned about for dress in an interview is not wearing anything that stands out incredibly. That mainly revolves around color and patterns. Stick with the classic white or light blue shirt, blue suit and a solid or simple pattern tie.
