The sneakers with suits/slacks look is horrendous, why is this a thing?

Its worse than the midtown uniform.  Id rather be seen in a flock of 15 patagucci wearing midtown uniform bros heading to sweetgreen than be caught dead strolling the office in nike frees slacks and a light blue dress shirt.

Even worse, now all the boomers are adopting the look.  Looks very cringe.

If you want to wear sneakers...then dress down completely. No half measures.

Edit: only acceptable if you are in the middle of a walking commute, or are an ex nfl player with CTE and hip/ lower body issues( see nfl panels on tv)

Funniest

As an upcoming diversity candidate for the LGBT programs I believe I’m supposed to take offence at this.

They really, and I mean REALLY, like to be perceived as quirky or whatever the fukc they are going for. It just comes off as fukcing weird. If you have the courage mr. Soy boy go all the way if not stick to what everyone’s wearing.

Then why wear a suit and slacks? Just wear a t shirt and jeans then.

Those are more comfortable too. And you arent meeting clients as you said....

The mix makes no sense to me.

there are associates and analysts that walk around my bb floor in nice slacks, tailored dress shirts, and hideous sneakers that look like they were used in their college intramural games.

TMT MDs walk around in those boomer shoes (leather upper, flat white soles) with suits

then add in all the vest wearers....

its actually embarrassing being back in the office.  rather just stay home then be associated with this

Then don't wear a damn suit!

Its acceptable now to wear a suit with sneakers in office

What if I wore t shirt shorts and park avenues in the office? I'd look like a fool. There's no difference in my opinion.

I do it everytime I wear a suit.  Busted knees, back, etc.  They are all black (laces, soles trim) extra comfy  Rockports.  You would have to really look to see it.  I mean how many times do you look at a man's shoes?

Never an issue.  Couple of guys asked me if it was due to football.  After a yes, no one gave a crap.

Now, if I were a millenial wearing Chuck Taylors...

Namaste. D.O.U.G.

It looks terrible...There are so many comfortable dress shoes too. I feel like my Ferragamos are super comfortable for my commute, cap toe lace-up slightly less but whatever.

Personally, I hate the sneakers that try to look like dress shoes the most. Super tacky
