'The Wolf of Wall Street': Scorsese and Dicaprio

Scorsese and Dicaprio teaming up for their 5th time together to make The Wolf of Wall Street. The movie starts filming in New York in August. This has the potential to be the best movie ever (and extremely popular outside the finance community as well given Leo/Scorsese).

The book was amazing and the sheer premise of the movie is so boss: sex, drugs, money, and corruption (basically what I wanted Wall Street 2 to be about...)

With Scorsese directing and Dicaprio starring as Jordan Belfort, you already know this movie will be an instant classic. Just think of their other movies together: Gangs of NY, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island.

DigitalSpy.com:
"We're aiming to start later this summer. It's such an exciting story," Scorsese explained. "Even though it's set in the early '90s, the attitude is there. The actions are the same. Our values are the same."

He added: "It's not like we had solid values until 1998 – the issue is that we were founded on certain values, and tried to maintain them."

Scorsese went on to suggest that The Wolf of Wall Street will illustrate the destruction that greed can cause.

"The film has more to do with human nature and not guiding or inhibiting some people when nature gets away with them. As if to say, 'Hold it, this is morally wrong because look at all these people suffering'," he explained. "It's a riotous story because of the humor and the madness and how these characters just run wild.

"You have to remember what the real drug is: money. Money's good, it's just that thing of what you do once you have it all?"

Can't wait to see this film. Vince Vaughn should be cast in this film as Jordan though. I saw a while back that someone else had the same viewpoint. Vaughn played a villain well years back (can't think of the name of the movie with Travolta). But I guess Dicaprio will do.

This movie may well be everything that I've been hoping for since Wall Street/Wall Street 2. The book is really good and Scorsese is legendary. I wish I could see this movie right now.

No. The Vince Vaughn from this suspense movie I can't think of with Travolta and Steve Buscemi.

yall jelly of Shia cause he get all the bishes and he get all the money and he even a better finance trader than yall, didnt u see him on tv he said he learned how to trade and made 1000% return u cant beat that lol

Fuck...no Shia? But who will ride mortorcycles in the forest with hedge fund managers? Any wall street movie without motorcycle races is just plain unrealistic.

In all seriousness, given the Scorcese/DiCaprio track record, this thing is being nominated for Best Picture as we speak. It will probably cause a shitstorm in the press about unethical behavior on the street, but at least it will be entertaining.

dats wut i be sayin. if shia aint there to ball hard aint no point in watchin the damn thang,

but surrsly, shutter island had surrious flawz - it wuz all based on one very predictable, transparent slight-of-hand. if Scorsayzie could have pulled that off betta, it would have been a really gr8 movey.
