Thoughts on LLR Partners?

Undergrad here, kinda new to the PE game. Are there any PE guys who understands the game willing to look into this company. How would this compare to banking in NY

I interviewed with them a few years back. Sharp team and seemed like a great culture, but if I were choosing I'd pick BB/EB out of UG. While it's technically PE at the analyst level, it's more like growth equity and exit opps will likely be to LMM shops (or maybe some MM). From BB/EB, you could get the same gig or better. I'd take the role over lower tier banks though (HW/RJ/STRH, etc.) because at least you've already successfully made it to PE.

Got a call from a recruiter, ended up scheduling an intro conversation with a VP on a weekend (their idea). Recruiter told me it was just a light get-to-know you/ ask a few q's about the firm thing, make sense especially at that stage. I decide to take a walk while doing the call. VP calls and must have had a bad day or something, and just instantly dives into a LBO. I have no pen or paper, so I'm basically forced to run through it all in my head. Weirdest bait and switch I've ever had.

Know them pretty well and agree with all the above, solid MM shop doing growth investments as well as value oriented buyouts/rollups. Definetly a hard working and sharp group, but it's not a crazy sweatshop by any means. As an analyst you'll mainly be sourcing, if you know you want to do PE and want to be in the Philly area I think it's a great offer. If you're in a position where you could end up in a pretty solid banking group, you'll probably have more options if you do two years of banking and then recruit to PE.

having gone through the process, they are a great firm. You should know if you are interested in the things they invest in tho.

Recruited for their SA program in undergrad. Really nice people from the partners at the top down to the analyst, and seem to be growing. I opted for a top tier industry boutique over them because I wanted larger cap buyout. However, if you’re interested in WLB and the verticals they cover, I would highly recommend giving them a look.
P.S. for all the non-targets out there, they seem to be much more open to taking non-targets than most other PE firms.
