To those that stated they would quit once they receieved their bonus in the summer, are you quitting now that your firm has increased base pay/may increase base pay in the near future?
There was a big thread a few months ago of people stating that they would quit or find another job ASAP to lateral too once they got their bonus in the summer. Do people still intend on quitting?
I know a few people in the group I used to be at are leaving. Honestly, I think these sort of bumps were more targeted to keep associates from bouncing and trying to stop the immediate bleeding in groups. I'm not sure if this will increase analyst retention since most analysts, for better or for worse, still see the buyside as the end goal.
Not about the money for those leaving. The extra $500 per paycheck after tax isn't the difference maker, it's the lifestyle
So true, and it’s not even $500 per paycheck. An incremental $15k will be taxed at about 45% (federal, state, Medicare) in NYC or Cali for a single person. Then divide what’s left by 24 pay periods and it’s an extra $350 per paycheck.
Lol surprisingly during the wintertime most first years (assuming that's what you're asking . since majority 2nd years leave anyway.) who were commiserating said they wanted to stay as of now into their second year and get buyside.
Didn’t most of the outrage occur in the spring and not in the winter though?
