Trading or AM?
Guys, I've been investing for 2 years now and I love it. It's truely a passion.
I've done 2 years, of a 4 year engineering degree at McGill University.
I tried to get a a trading internship for the summer but that failed. I'm doing a Project Management internship instead which is also pretty awesome.
Now I'm trying to set myself up for an internship next summer, but I'm somewhat hesitant...
Should I go into Trading or AM? or something else?
I wish I could try everything and find out for myself, but since you guys are well versed in this, I ask you.
I love doing DD, (Technical and Fundamental analysis).
I have a nice network list of people in the industry, with contacts in Calgary, Vancouver, and a few people in Switzwerland (as well as people in my hometown Montreal).
I regularly have email conversations with Presidents, CEOs and IR guys from different companies I'm interested. (Mostly small cap stocks) (It's all about WHO you know, not WHAT you know ;) )
What should I look into?
Thanks for you help.. I appreciate it!

Well do you want to trade? If you know all these different people you should go in and sit with them on their desk for a day or something. I would argue that you can quickly tell if trading is the right atmosphere you want to be in once you're on a trading desk. AM is slower (typically) and can be focused on investing. There are clearly pros and cons for both, but it really comes down to your personality. Which job do you see yourself doing better in? Asking people on this board what YOU should do is not the best way to go about it. There are plenty of posts about personality types for trading, are those the type of words you'd use to describe yourself? No one responded initially because it's almost impossible for people on this forum to tell you what you should do, especially with the little info you gave us.
Thanks Koho.
I know many people who work in the industry, but none are actually traders.. Will keep working on it!
Cheers
