Transitioning from real estate to specialty consulting?
A little background: I have an MBA from a top 10 program. I have 5 years of work experience in several different real estate related managerial roles.
Transition to Consulting: I am in the offer stage with a smaller sized consulting firm that has real estate as one of their focus areas. The pay is lower and I'm being assured to expect a 40ish hour workweek, but the people I talked to say that work-life balance can be a challenge because it is a smaller firm. What should I be looking out for when taking a position at a boutique consulting firm, vs going to a larger firm?
