UIUC vs UMich vs Indiana vs Northwestern

I have a question regarding UIUC. My four schools as of now are UMich, Northwestern, UIUC, and Indiana. I plan to go into investment banking in the near future. I understand UMich Ross has a great program to obtain a job after, but I would probably have to apply to Ross after my freshmen year there (taking a risk). Whereas at UIUC and Indiana Kelley, I believe I can get into their honor business programs as a high schooler applying. Cost wise, UIUC would help out my family the most and by a lot. So, how is the networking at UIUC and what would do you recommend majoring in? Double in Finance and Accounting? How are the investment clubs/academies and what happens if I do not get in? Any suggestions or help appreciated thank you.

UIUC is the weakest of the four schools you mentioned IMO. Strive for Michigan, even if getting into Ross is tough. Indiana is also a solid choice, as it's pretty to get into into there and it places decently in IB, but their financial aid is subpar.

In reality there's different strengths.

Two of those have the benefits of strong name-brand and on campus recruiting. Kelley on the other hand, has IB placement programs which offer personalized attention (with limited recruiter visits to campus) and extremely strong placement within the program. Last year they placed 56 into IB roles, 6 into S&T, and 4 into PWM.

The catch is that with Kelley you're rolling the dice: getting into their IBW is competitive and if you don't get in your placement odds go down significantly. I'd rate the other two as the "safer" options but if the school you get into is Kelley it's easily doable for you to get into IB from there.

I would prefer UMich or Northwestern like some others said. UIUC has nothing special. Really like UMich as a school, but it's a huge campus in rural Michigan ~45 mins from DTW and non-Ross kids don't have those OCRs very much. I would lean towards Northwestern.

Of those four, NW/UMich Ross have far and away the best OCR. I believe Ross has a pre-admit program as well, so see if you can get in on that.

Other recommendations:

UChicago has OCR on par/maybe slightly above NW/Ross, especially if you go through the modestly selective UCIB program. Take a look at that.

Wisconsin is a fair bit weaker than NW/Ross/Chicago, but I think it is better for IB than UIUC or IU non-IB workshop.

Are you only looking in the Midwest or could you go farther afield?
