University of Washington Foster MBA for Tech?

I was reading an article about University of Washington's Foster MBA and saw over 50% of grads go into tech. If you were able to secure a good scholarship and want to go into tech, would this be a formidable option? Or would going to a top 10 program at full cost be more advantageous in the long run?

Additionally, I've been reading and hearing from folks in programs that a lot of top tech firms only look at MBA grads with consulting backgrounds. Is this others' experience? Would someone with a DCM/ECM type of background not have much of a chance for tech strategy type roles?
