US BB IBD Analyst --> Asia Buyside Recruiting?

Hi all, I'll be joining a top BB in the US next year as an IBD analyst and am interested in buyside recruiting in Asia (HK or SG) in case I don't receive an H1-B visa. Does anyone know what the process might be like for someone who is not a Mandarin speaker, and how valued the US experience would be? This is for both PE and HF.

I think one year's experience at a top BB in US would almost secure a decent job in finance in HK. It might not be a buy side job as you wished for, but it would definitely be a well paid job with good career prospective. It would help a lot if you can speak mandarin or cantonese, but it's ok if you can't.

To speak freely, white male who can speak cantonese/mandarin would be a killer in HK job market.
