Valued Experience Prior to MBB Internship

I am currently a sophomore deciding which internship to go forward with this summer. I am debating between 3 offers. Those offers are from varying realms (corporate finance, data analyst, business systems analyst), so I was wondering which would look best to an MBB firm. If there are any other unique experiences you think I should go after to be more appealing come next fall, feel free to share those thoughts as well. Thanks!

Honestly, all are fine and you should go where you think you'll succeed / be interested in the job if you don't convert to MBB and end up working in a similar field. Perhaps a slight lean towards corp fin if you'll be getting to do some analytical work over IT work (which is what the other ones sound like), but the other ones could be good if you develop any technical skills (e.g. programming) or presentation skills along the way. I would also heavily consider the one where you think you'll get the most "real" work.

Planning is smart, but contingency plans / base rates are very important. Don't get too caught up in a super focused approach where if you don't hit your targets you think you're screwed / life is over.

I agree with ConsultingQuant regarding the nature of the work. Corp fin tends to be easy to leverage into consulting positions/internships or other positions (such as IB) that require a good mix of analytics, big-picture perspective, etc. Likewise, you need to get some real work under your belt.

One factor to keep it mind, even though it is not the key criterion, is the kind of firm you would be working at. Are the offers from comparable firms? Having a "big" name on your resume can help, too, so if one offer really stands out I would consider it more carefully. (Exaggerated example: data analyst at Google.)
