VC Comp to Increase Post-IB Raises?

Hi All,

Curious for thoughts on implications for VC comp post-IB raises across the street and if anyone has seen raises in response at their VC/growth equity shops.John Gannon's 2020 survey indicated mean of $80k for Analyst and $118k for Associate last year. VC has always seen a discount to PE, driven by smaller fund sizes, favorable work-life-balance and overall desirability for the position, however it is challenging to imagine a world where it can be so substantially below the new baseline for IB salaries.

Note, aforementioned figures are salary only - PitchBook pulled together a report on bonuses in 2020. Median was $20-28k for analyst, $40k Assoc., $60k associate.
