The woman in that vid is insufferable. Actually to answer her question, no Wall Street would not have had a huge crisis if it were all women. We would never have made it that far and would probably be a Tier 3 country bowing down to our Lords in Europe and Asia.

Should there be a distinction between bro and fraternity guy? I think so. The latter is a bit classier, I think, except in the case of massive party frats.
They have totally different connotation for me. When hear "bro" I think of sideways visors and spiked haired douche bags, whereas a fraternity guy should be in nice slacks, a polo, and be more mild mannered.
That guy has about as much understanding of fraternity culture as my grandma who lives in another country. Actually my grandma knows more because she gives me 9" inseam khaki shorts. No cargo pockets.
Joking aside I go to a school she named as a bro school. If you wear cargo shorts and play frisbee, you are going home to make love to your right hand (left if its a special occasion).
She is right that finance attracts a lot of the frat guys here. Its because:
(a) Many greeks have high GPAs as greek avg GPA > school avg GPA. (b) Many greeks have great fraternity wide connections (4-5 a year go into IBD/S&T per pledge class). (c) They have social skills and leadership qualifications (inter-fraternity positions are huge).
None of this is a bad thing.
I think the types of "Bros" being described really only refer to the guys at Southern schools. Pink popped collars attract the southern bells while gelled hair will never get you laid in the south. Different culture and clearly missed by both the interviewer and interviewee.
My answer to the question is simple: The types of people who we consider "Bros" tend to be the uber-confident (to the point of cocky), type-A personalities. These are generally the genetically gifted people and those who succeed on wall street.
I'm really confused on what you're saying...For example, your first paragraph seems to contradict itself, perhaps inadvertently...you do realize that BOTH gelled and popped collars are loathed in the south, right?
Also, you're totally wrong if you're saying the "bros" described in the video are prevalent in the south. In fact, there are probably less frisbee playing/cargo short wearing people – not just bros – in the south than anywhere. It's all short shorts, collared shirts, flashy-colored-but-nice khakis, polos, long UN-gelled hair, and a fraternity attitude that is classier than the “sup bro!” attitude. In fact, if anyone's serious about playing frisbee in college in the south, they're probably just hippies, which are neither bros or fraternity guys.
I didn't say that the "bros" described in the video are prevalent in the South, I was saying that the video attempts to classify "Bros" based on the interviewee's interactions with Southerners. Listen to the schools they describe: Georgetown, Duke, George Washington... Also, the interviewer is based in Washington D.C. To me, its clear that they are basing their judgments on Southern schools rather than New York City.
