Waste of my time...

third time is the charm...I extended my help for 3 peeps who wanted to get into trading. The first did not forward his resume and the 2nd didn't even have the courtesy to accept my call at our scheduled time today and the third was just an idiot. No email...no call to give an excuse...no wonder you will be sub par at best.

So...that is it and to top the cake...I read where a WSO person actually told someone to ignore my advice...that is fine...but do you know the job market in Los Angeles? Do you know why I recommended the CFA accreditation? and did you use the word ad nauseum in the right context? Time to download more dance music.

So...I will bid adieu with 500 credits (for bananas) still in my pocket knowing that I have done my best to help the 3 peeps to get interviews and jobs at First New York Sec during my short (30 day) duration at WSO.

For those of you that I've met - I will stay in touch - you can email me since you know my email addy.

Good luck and best wishes.

Hey man, I know how you feel. I have bent over backwards to help people get positions, etc at my old job. It is sometimes a thankless endeavor. I am sure those whom do show the initiative to take you up on your offer appreciate it.

Man that's too bad, I hate that we're always losing people who actually have jobs, knowledge, experience, etc I don't want this forum to end up being all college kids like me :P Then it just turns into a wankfest

W-

Sorry to hear that people had to act that way. I really appreciated your message to me and know that you were being honest and helpful to those who asked you questions. I've always been very humbled by various people's willingness to lend a hand and it always irks me when that type of situation is taken advantage of.

Hope you change you mind and keep posting!

Best, John

It's a shame that a few ruin it for the others and make it harder for the rest of us.

Too bad but it is so damn true! When I first came in the US to work I wanted to be helpful for guys who wanted to work here in banking and I pretty much have always been disappointed.

> I recall that I would have give a lot to have to somebody that would have helped me preparing interviews when I was younger.

> I guess there is two types of people, guys who doesn't have the choice and just give everything they have to succeed and the other kind, "the wankers" who expect things to be given to them, leveraging most of the time daddy's connections.

That being said, I will continue to help people but I am definitely more cautious than before.

CLGCTrader don't be discouraged by three idiots.

So... the three idiots you extended help to are via WSO? You'd think people that make the effort to write someone and try to convince them they are worth a min of their time would have better follow through...

There's few known/starred traders relative to bankers on this site, and even fewer female professionals. It's always nice to have more of either or just so there's more perspective for the prospective monkeys out there. Hopefully, the few bad experiences here won't deter you from helping the polite/sensible ones.

To the OP and all other morons posting farewells...

can you fcking idiots stop issuing formal departure notices to an anonymous message board every time you feel unappreciated? Did your mom not hug you enough as a kid? I dont doubt that your advice and help has been valuable but a farewell note? Give me a break. Where do you people come from?
