What Do You Guys Suggest I Do??

Hi guys, I aspire to have a career in banking and this is my first year at a state school majoring in finance and minoring in economics. After doing my time at community college. I will be graduating in Dec 2022 so technically, I'm a sophomore. I won't have a GPA after this semester and I am aware that if I have cc on my resume, that's an instant rejection.

My goal is to obtain an internship this summer and gain valuable experience. Should I cold call/email boutique banks and other financial firms after my GPA is up (January) or should I just do it now? I have no prior finance experience but have recently done WSP premium package and have the CFA Investment Foundations certification.

Any advice is deeply appreciated!

Network, network, network. Find bankers on LinkedIn and send cold emails asking for 15 mins of their time to hear about their career path, experience with recruiting, etc.

For this summer, find small boutique IBs and send cold emails first asking to "network" and then after developing relationships with these people, then pivot towards a potential internship.

*** Every single email you send should have your resume attached.

What kind of state school are we talking about here.... a top flagship (Cal/UCLA/UVA/Michigan) or Indiana University of Pennsylvania? Or somewhere in between?
