What do you think about Edinburgh business school?
I'm accepted in Edinburgh's business school for a Msc in Financial Management, i wanted to know if it's well known in the USA and Europe? Do i have a chance to get an interview in as an IB analyst?

Depends on your undergrad stats (gpa, school, work experience etc.) You will likely not get interviews just based off the fact that you were accepted to Edinburg, but if the rest is up to par it probably won't be a hindrance.
Thank you TheSanchize,my undergrad degree is not financial related it's an degree in computer with a minor in software development. As i wanted to work in finance i had to do a degree in finance and edinburgh business school was the only one which accepted me in his program.
Don't think its too well known in the US. Not sure about Europe though.
Thank you TwoThrones !
Yes, you do have a fair chance. Edinburgh has on-campus events and a decent reputation. As already mentioned, you will not get an interview based solely on the fact that you have Edinburgh Business School on your resume (which is the case for most good schools anyways), but if you perform well at school and network when you have the opportunity, you have a decent shot at it. If IBD is your dream, Edinburgh is your best alternative and you are willing to settle for other jobs within finance (don't just assume IBD is the only option...), then you should attend this program.
Thank you very much sverlend, i love this site already. To tell you the truth i want to work in Private Equity, but i've got advised on another thread to first become an investment banker analyst for two years, work my ass off and then to try to get into private equity. That's why i'm asking if Edinburgh business school has a good reputation. I wanted eventually work during 2 to 3 years in investment banking and then go for a MBA before trying to get into private equity. In short my real preoccupation was to know if EBS was a reputable business school.
The only problem with that is that almost all recruiting for London IBD is done in the fall, i.e. before any grades are given - thus, it does not really matter how OP performs on his MSc. OP, since you have been accepted to Edinburgh, I would focus on playing the hand you have been dealt - obviously getting a solid undergrad GPA, but also any extracurricular activities in the finance dept at your current university, any relevant internship for next summer or part-time job during the school year (very important in my opinion), networking, anything you can do to make your resume more finance-y before applying next fall.
You will need to check into the job placement process. The school should be able to tell you whether other students who have finished the program have successfully landed jobs in their respective fields.
Thank you for your advice!
Or you could do your own investigating via linkedin.com
My goal is just to get into Private Equity, even if it's a little boutique, that doesn't matter. I will first try to land a job as an investment bank analyst, it doesn't have to be one of the bulk brackets, it's good if i could, but landing a job for me is more important. What matters to me that i'm happy!
