Hi everyone, I was just wondering if someone can help me in understanding how is a typical day of a PE Analyst/Associate? Just because I cannot understand what tasks they could perform since these PE funds retain investment banks to execute deals, do valuations, search companies, etc... So, what is left for them in a PE firm? Sorry for the ignorance, but I'm really curious to understand that... Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Believe me there is plenty left even with offloading some work onto an IB. -One of the biggest tasks is to check the work provided to them by investment banks -They also take the materials provided to them and create internal credit and investment committee materials -They will create their own models, especially operations models and quick and dirty DCFs -PE analysts also manage processes keeping tabs on multiple investment banks, consortium members, advisory firms etc -Deal execution items like creating LLCs, partnerships, filing forms with the IRS -Calling lawyers to harass them over the d
