What is left for Private Equity Analysts / Associates?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if someone can help me in understanding how is a typical day of a PE Analyst/Associate?

Just because I cannot understand what tasks they could perform since these PE funds retain investment banks to execute deals, do valuations, search companies, etc...
So, what is left for them in a PE firm?

Sorry for the ignorance, but I'm really curious to understand that...

Appreciate any input.
Thanks.
