What is one thing you learned in IB or Private Markets that no book, professor, or research that you encountered taught you that ended up being very important?
I'm curious to see how much wisdom is learned solely through experience, and how much slips through the cracks despite the massive amount you learn going through school and internships.
I thought that people at the top of their profession understood basic concepts that you would learn in books, but they don't. Unbelievable, how many people at the highest levels don't have a good grasp of concepts like time value of money.
