You will sign a paper that basically gives them full access to any records they want - school, government, employment - anything except medical records are fair game.
Anyone who lies and thinks he won't get caught, especially with the new emphasis on business ethics and the SEC, is nuts.

your former employers. The background checking company will then contact them for information about you, and, again, you will have signed a waiver giving them the right to any information. If you don't list one of your employers, there will be a big gap in your work history, so that's kind of a red flag.

I think these background checks only look for Police records and such, I highly doubt they can get your transcripts and SAT scores from your University & CollegeBoard. Most Banks do ask for copies of your transcript though, it's fairly standard.

For my previous internship, it was Credit check , Criminal Check, and refernces from my previous employers which I provided them with. I didn't know about academic reconrds cuz I thought we provided them with those.

they can not check any academia records, as you must personally submit a request to your school to have the records released. call your school and they'll verify. if your school does release this information, duress should ensue. employment check will only verify dates. very revised information is set out to protect the privacy of employee;s and hence why you must submit transcripts prior to an offer.

pitchmonkey:
are absolutely included. SATs too - the sheet you sign spells this out, it gives them permission to basically check anything they want.

I believe that there's a clause that most universities have saying they can't under any circumstances, divulge info to an employer without the individual's release. Therefore, you could allow the employer to "check" on these things, but if the university won't divulge, the employer is out of luck.

Once you sign that release, the school will give out the information. It's standard, and you will have to sign the release in order to start work at the bank. Honestly, it's that simple.

They definitely can't get SATs, as those are done by a private company (College Board) and are not publicly available. I wouldn't worry anyway--they were taken when we were....16? 17?
