What movie should I watch to get pumped for an interview?
I am thinking of watching the first half of "Wall Street" and the first half of "Boiler Room" so I can catch the parts where the main characters are making cold calls, pitching stocks, working late, hustling etc.
Since I have watch these movies 100+ times, I was wondering if you could suggest any movies that will get me into interview/finance/bustin balls mode.
Movie doesn't have to be finance related. I want a movie that shows someone working their ass off to make money and make a difference.
Boogie Nights
I don't have any SBs but this comment definitely deserved some love. Crazy movie.
Busty Cops 5: The Final Chapter
Assmasters 7: Return of the Assman
American Psycho on repeat
Pumping Iron or the new Generation Iron
Back Door Sluts 9
looooooooooooool
Glengarry Glen Ross is good thou I like the re-imagining version even better.
well done
Who the hell watches a movie to get ready for an interview? All you need is Roy Jones Jr.- Can't be stopped.
Or really...every rap song ever created.
You may want to rethink that, cheiferino...

Did the twerk epidemic not fatten her wallet (and dat a$$)? Eternal hussle fo lyfe, mang.
Step Brothers.
Napoleon Dynamite. Mean Girls. But most importantly, Pulp Fiction.
Rudy is one of my favorite "get in grind mode" movies. Seriously, one of the best motivational movies ever. Kobe Bryant lists Rudy as "his inspirational," so you know it's good.
Also, the Rocky movies are great for this, Top Gun, and of course, American Psycho. There's also a plethora of documentaries out there, go to tradeitdontdateit.com, they have a list of the best ones.
Glengarry Glen Ross, only the beginning.
Also, Saving Ryan's Privates.
There is a 1h long documentary on GS on youtube... Called Goldman sachs:Power and Peril. The intro always pumps me up for some reason lool... Check it out, good part is maybe a minute long
Rogue Trader
America's Cup
In all seriousness, this is all you need:

I will up-rep for Eric Thomas videos all day. +1
No better way to start the day than watching PTJ trade crude in the Trader documentary
You don't want to watch something that will get you so pumped to crush your interview that you lose sleep. Just listen to this when you wake up and don't forget to eat your Wheaties:
Open your wallet and it should be a good motivation.
Any Rock em Sock em video you can find
I'll be serious here.
Pursuit of happyness
With the y.
Can't believe none of you have mentioned the most inspirational film of the 20th Century:

If you have to watch a movie to motivate yourself to get a job, I think something's wrong.
Pretty douchey/holier-than-thou comment. Curious to know what exactly is wrong with using something to alter your psyche before a big interview.
It's an interview, is my point. I'm just not sure how getting "psyched up", is going to benefit you at all as opposed to collecting your thought and reflecting on what you need to do.
In my opinion, clear thoughts and a clear mind are what you want, not an adrenaline fueled euphoria.
Not trying to be douchey, just the way I was made to do things I guess. Used to have a coach that wouldn't let us listen to music before games because he thought that self reliance was more important for long run perserverance than using some other "substance" to motivate yourself.
I think exuding confidence and energy are two of the most important things you can do in an interview. If it takes an adrenaline filled euphoria, then so be it.
troy, gladiator, 12 angry men
Troy or gladiator. pursuit of happiness is also a big one. and Wall Street original
@Eddie - is that a documentary about a UBS superday?
Actually made me LOL. +1
Good Will Hunting .....how else will you be able to utilize his interviewing skills
Thomas the train - proving to be a really useful engine
Maybe you should be watching the inside of a Vault guide instead of a movie
nobody has said 8 mile yet? 8 mile.
Trading Places and The Shawshank Redemption.
Serbian Film (feel free to look it up)
Dude. No.
Now I'm curious. Will wait until I leave the office though.
Aren't you supposed to relax before an interview and not get pumped up?
Brazzers
Rockstar with Mark Wahlberg... or Pursuit of Happyness; Will Smith kills it
Apocalypse Now or Animal House.
Or as someone above mentioned - Brazzers...
i go with something more serious, like inside job.
I'd watch a comedy. Mean Girls is a solid choice.
brandon st randy, stop trying to make fetch happen. It's not going to happen.
You should watch American Psycho. Oh, and make sure to have a reservation at Dorsia, preferably around 8pm.
IDK man, I dont think that company's give enough notice about the interviews for someone to get that reservation....
You're obiously no Paul Allen. Maybe you're more like that looser Patrick Bateman.
Wouldn't getting a bj on the way to the office be a better way to relax before the interview.
What if he's left with nothing but blue balls? That's a big risk to take before an interview my friend
How about you spend the time you're planning on wasting on getting pumped on further preparing for your interview?
This video always pulled me through tough times:

Hey fellow monkeys
Have some time off and this is my last week before i start the drill.
I like inspirational movies and would like you guys to share your top 5/10
Cheerio
Pursuit of happyness - seeing how much shit and grind the guy goes through is motivational and grounding.
You have serious problems.
Without limits - it's about running, so I might be biased, but it's about someone and their willingness to give everything for what they love.
Good one. Prefontaine was a beast well before his time.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Sports movies...remember the titans, invincible, miracle, rudy, we are Marshall
Mighty ducks movies
Pursuit of Happyness is by far the best. I recently watched Whiplash (getting rave reviews right now) and it was quite good. Godfather movies are great and honourable mention for the Wolf of Wall Street.
@"schuoh" For you sports enthusiasts, I highly recommend Steve Prefontaine: Fire on the Track and Prefontaine. It has always been a constant source of inspiration for me. If this doesn't get you pounding the pavement I don't know what will.
Lord Of War
gallipoli
I almost took that seriously. A bunch of ANZAC's charging headlong into a line of machine guns is super inspirational, indeed.

The best ones are all from the 80's
Entourage.
Cindrella Man, Seabiscuit, Shawshank Redemption, There will be Blood
Miracle and American sniper
shawshank redemption
Top Gun
Good add, 80s movie trump all in this category. Not even close. Crazy soundtracks, montages.
The opening monologue from Casino Jack. Will fire your shit up every time.
basically any sports movie. In particular, I like Coach Carter
Pursuit of Happyness The Great Gatsby (if you liked the book and don't have the time to read it again)
Moneyball was decent
Rocky.
The original Rocky is so great. Not only very inspirational but also won best picture that year.
The scene where Rocky goes the distance with Apollo and the music starts with the overhead shot and people pouring into the ring. It gives me goosebumps every time.

Some of my favorites are: Good Will Hunting School Ties - BC I am such an underdog and also I love seeing the though good guy winning Social Network
Jerry Maguire and all time comfort spot - Family Man starring Nic Cage!
Great topic! So, for me: 1. Wall Street (the 1st, the 2nd is junk) 2. Interstellar 3. Catch Me If You Can 4. American Psycho
The Natural- classic Rudy The Right Stuff Any Harrison Ford movie...Get off my plane, Jaque I hate snakes, Kali-ma
