What type of Coffee do you drink?
Hey monkeys, as we all know coffee is an important part of the finance industry for sever reasons: it helps you stay awake at work after long nights as well as allows you to network with other monkeys. Because of the importance of this beverage, I wanted to hear what kind of coffee you all drink. Personally, I rarely drink coffee; but, when I do, I prefer Dark Roast.

if its after breakfast I prefer a Stok Unsweetened or Lightly Sweetened Cold Brew http://stokcoffee.com/products/
I drink my coffee black so I like well roasted and flavorful coffees. When I was in Costa Rica last summer I toured a number of coffee plantations and went out of my way to taste some really good stuff. Once you taste what coffee can be truly like it is had to go back to drinking K cups or whatever.
I like both dark and light, served all kinds of ways (espresso, americano, drip, french press, etc). I've had a lot of that bullet proof shit and it is pretty good. Very creamy. La Columbe is my jam right now, but I am always looking for a new, boutique coffee shop outside of the Starbucks world.
Same...had some fresh, farm-roasted coffee in Costa Rica and have had a hard time going back.
There are a few places I've found to order this (and a smaller batch Tanzanian Peaberry). Have had some in Hawaii, too, but it's a little pricey for everyday stuff when I enjoy the Costa Rica coffees just as much.
I am, however, still a sucker for the Starbucks Christmas Blend.
Don't like most of Starbucks Coffee.... But that Christmas Blend is another story.
Yeah I drink my coffee black as well so I need flavor. La Colombe is really solid, I especially like their Ethiopian stuff.
whenever i am at a coffee meeting for networking purposes, i always order whatever the other person is having just because it builds trust very quickly to know that you two agree already on something etc.
Other than that I like iced coffee with cream and one sugar (yes, i know it's extremely basic but whatever it still tastes good)
Good point on ordering the same thing as your companion during coffee chats. Will definitely remember.
Its not worth it if they order something you don't like. Can't say Ive ever noticed or cared what the person Im meeting for coffee orders. Even when they order tea, which takes longer and isn't coffee.

I try to do this when out for drinks as well
I will have what Zeppelin is having. I too am a basic bitch .. no shame
Panama Geisha Esmeralda
I see your fund must be doing fantastically

I like my coffee like I like my women - Irish.
Blackrifle Coffee Company is my go to for brewing at home. Espresso for any traveling because its more efficient since you won't have to piss as much. Gas station coffee if up for over 18 hours because it pairs well with misery.
I actually quit drinking coffee/red bull/caffeine generally after leaving IB a few years ago. Had a red bull vodka at a friend's place a few weeks ago and felt like my heart was going to explode.
Dunkin Donuts K-cups. I'm a "super-taster" so things like alcohol and coffee are super bitter to me, which means I can never acquire a "taste" for the product (alcohol or coffee), no matter how hard I've tried over the years. So Dunkin Donuts k-cups are as disgusting to me as farm fresh beans from Costa Rica. I drink coffee for utilitarian reasons--a caffeine boost without the calories and/or the junk in diet soda.
Just out of curiosity, why don't you try out caffeine pills? I haven't done my research on them or anything, but have a few friends that use them.
After that Saved by the Bell episode, I view caffeine pills as drugs...
I buy coffee beans from my favorite cafe. High grade beans, roasted within the week and they have a variety of flavor profiles.
Blue bottle bella donovan, Starbucks reserve Ethiopian to name a couple favorites
Diet Mountain Dew
Not much of a coffee drinker. If I do, it's a mocha frappuccino from Starbucks once every 1 or 2 months.
anyone drink Caveman coffee? i know Joe Rogan is a fan
Its good, the nitro can is reallllly good
Luwaka coffee
black and blonde.
I do Half-Caff K-Cups since we have a Keurig machine in the office. I drink a lot of water, which keeps me alert, and only do coffee when I feel I need it (the reason why I do half-caff).
I've experimented with Bulletproof Coffee for awhile now, and it's pretty great.
Lately I've been on the mushroom coffee from Four Sigmatic. They have several, but I go for the brain coffee and the energy coffee.
Other than that, there's an Italian coffee joint nearby that does a good job.
Unfortunately, my employer only has a Keurig machine at work, so that's what I'm stuck drinking. It truly is nasty coffee.
Any 3rd wave medium or light roast. 3rd wave coffee (read, the primo artisan hipster shit) is more precisely roasted so the beans don't burn. This has two key benefits: 1) less caffeine is cooked off in the roasting process, and 2) it doesn't upset your stomach at all, so you can drink cup after cup without noticing until you feel like you've just mainlined jet fuel.
Also the lighter the roast, the more caffeine.
Black, like my women.
Black, like my women in chi town. If you throw in a table spoon of coconut oil, it suppresses your appetite and improves brain function too.
Coconut oil is the fucking shit. I put it in my oatmeal. Absolutely essential product.
Chameleon Cold Brew
Costco (Kirkland) brand medium roast, French press-brewed
16 ounces. Light and sweet.
I am a fan of Birch or Stumptown beans- both can be found in NYC.
Just got the 4-pack from Black Rifle and must say I was pretty impressed. Plus their big on donating money to LEOs, guns rights orgs and stuff like that (if that floats your boat).

Starbucks - What to drink (Originally Posted: 11/15/2012)
Fellow monkeys,
since we're at Starbucks or the likes at least one or two times per day, I started to wonder what would be the best drink to order in terms of calories, sugar, fat, etc.
It's obviously very hard to keep in shape, stay healthy (i.e. eat, drink, live healthy) during the analyst stint.
However, I try to workout or go running as often as possible and generally try to eat quite healthy. At Starbucks, I usually order just a plain Café Latte, no flavors or anything else added. Would you recommend another drink, or is the daily Café Latte fine?
Would love to hear your recommendations and Starbucks drinking habits.
Black coffee. You know what they say, once you go black you don't go back.
Grande skinny latte to go please.
iced coffee, no cream with 2 packets of splena.
Double Espresso. No sugar.
I don't mean to sound like a hipster snob, but Starbucks is gross. I will take a hot cup of black South/Central American coffee from my local shop, thanks.
I go with black coffee. Low calories
Black coffee or espresso, preferably from somewhere other than Starbucks.
Now that we talk about Starbucks, has anyone ever ordered from their "secret menu"?

Order a ZJ. I don't know how much it is, but let's be honest, if you have to ask you can't afford it.
Favorite Starbucks drinks? (Originally Posted: 12/10/2016)
Hey guys, what are your favorite drinks at Starbucks? What do you usually order when you need to grind through the day vs a typical day?
During the holidays I always get that peppermint latte they have, I drink it like water But I almost always get iced coffee otherwise.
And if you're really trying to grind, get a large iced with 2 or 3 extra shots and drink it over the course of several hours... try to time it so you finish it ~2 hours before you think you'll be able to go home. Combine with your other favorite stimulant if you're really down to the wire and need a marathon, though you'll feel like you've been kicked in the stomach by death himself
The good ole college 16 oz redbull and adderall.
Will try that next time haha
