this $50k bonus for BBs is unfortunately true now. only elite boutiques are paying like $60k+to $80k+ top bucket for first years (centerview exception at $100k)

Why do people obsess so much over junior level comp oO
No clue. With an analyst position marginal differences in pay should not matter at all. It should be about getting to a place that will allow you to develop skills that'll make you enough money down the road that a 10k difference between BBs and EBs is completely meaningless.

I agree with your assessment here. But I think it's equally ridiculous to make a post in this thread with a bunch of fake data points on analyst compensation.

(1st years)
Moelis $80k top bucket
Guggenheim: $70k top bucket
Greenhil: $65k top bucket
Houlihan M&A: $55k top bucket
Citi (coverage group in NY)- $55k top bucket

Same
Generally, the pay is similar across the street, so comparisons aren't really needed.
doesnt 50k sound a bit low?
50K for top isn't too low for expected bonus. Most bbs won't give first years top anyway

Also not true.
^ Didn't BAML pay 70k this year and Wells 65k?
i heard the same for BAML. Citi was 60k
The following are for NY offices
Blackstone RR Salary: $70 Signing: $10 Bonus: $65 (top)
HL FRG Salary: $70 Signing: $15 Bonus: $60 (top)
Moelis Salary: $70 Signing: $10 Bonus: $60 (top)
These numbers are almost completely wrong.
would you mind sharing the more correct figures
