-suits

Don't buy them often enough to have an opinion

-shirts

Amazon.  Fit is more important than brand name, especially for solid colors.  Amazon has pretty good button collar shirts in a wide range of sizes for under $20. (house brand)

-ties

Um, no clue, I am more likely to wear a suit than tie, and I have a giant pile of ties that I've had forever/been given as gifts/randomly obtained. (Pro tip: get a specialty tie hangar for your closet.  You can hang 20 nicely in practically no space with one)

-underwear

Wal-mart for the most part for everything except going out underwear.  If anyone at work sees your underwear you're doing something VERY wrong.

-socks

Mostly amazon.  I like loud dress socks and amazon has multiple offerings of a dozen pairs for ~20.  I've got a few nice pairs for formal occasions that I've just sort of picked up as well.

-shoes

Various discount stores for the most part.  If you know what you're looking for you can get great deals.  Just last week I grabbed a pair of Cole Haan Zero Grands in a discontinued style from the Marshalls across from WTC, they were $70, while three months prior they were $200 at the Cole Haan boutique two blocks away.

-coats

Similar to above, although a great pea coat is highly recommended.  Don't skimp there, and pick one of your favorite stores.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
