Which MSF program should i choose?

Hello every one

  • i'm a 25 years old Iranian
  • MBA IN FINANCE from sharif university (best MBA program in middle east / best university in my country / 130-140 in world )
  • GPA 3.93 out of 4 (highest in the history of program )
  • 780 in GMAT
  • 4 year of work experience ( 2 years in ACCOUNTING department of a private holding / 2 years in ER, buy side of the biggest broker in my country) [Islamic banking]
  • CPA chart holder and level 3 CFA (and some other certifications like exam 70 and 63 equivalent of my own country)
  • i can speak fluent Persian , English , Japanese, Arabic and some chinese

i was thinking about completeing a MASTER IN FINANCE program, while getting some internships and networking and then apply for jobs in middle east (Saudi Arabia / Dubai) offices of BB banks.
i have three questions from you guys:

  1. what do you guys think my chances of getting accepted to TOP MSF programs are?
  2. considering my goals which programs do you recommend to me?
  3. What do you think my chances of getting an offer AFTER I finish my program with 1-2 internships in IB are? . do you even think my background will land me any internships? does my background appeal to IBankers at all? (if not what should i do?)

many thanks
kamyar

p.s:

is what i'm going to do right at all? am i better off doing another master or even a second mba?

I believe people are giving you "monkey shit" because they believe you are a troll. An additional MBA or a masters in finance will not help you all that much.

I don't think further education will help you in your pursuit. You need to focus more on networking and applying for any interesting opportunity that you can find.

thanks for the answer, but i just don't understand it why would you guys think I'm a troll? Because my c.v is better than most people who want to do MSF? or because I'm from Iran? every thing i said is real, and even if you guys won't believe it it would really mean so much to me if you could only answer my question

i think i should say two things to clarify my self:

  1. the reason i want to get another degree is because i cannot get a job in US or UK (I've already applied to many positions in US and they all said they could not offer me a position since I'm not in US, and they can not simply risk sponsorship for Visa and so and so )

2.the reason i want to work in US, before applying for middle eastern markets is that, I'm from IRAN. you guys probably don't know this but we have REALLY REALLY bad relationships with other countries in the area, Saudi Arabia and UAE will not tolerate Iranian under normal circumstance, that's why i want to work outside Iran for a couple of years and then move to middle east preferably as an associate or if possible at all a VC.

*****Guys I'm in a bind here, my whole life i did all i could, i did my best and there is literary no more room in my country for me to grow, if any of you knows anything that can help me i would really really appreciate it *****

People on this website are idiots. Don't be so sensitive. You can get into any MSF program in the world. Take your pick. If I were you, I would go to LBS. Cheers.

Hi all,

Can some help me also?

Looking to get into a solid MSF program prior to doing an MBA to transition into IB/PE.

Graduated from a cal- state university with 3.4 gpa in bio, published research , took econ/accounting courses at JC/Cal state 4.0gpa. Been working in non-finance role at an small unknown company.

What MSF programs would i be able to get into by killing GMAT?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Assuming you are not trolling here (avg person graduates around 21, from there you are saying you have your MBA and 4 years of work experience by 25.....think you are losing people there, perhaps something is getting lost) -

LBS, LSE, MIT for MSF programs. You can also look in to MBA programs - not all allow you to do another MBA, but some do. Also not sure what your degree constitutes - is it a true MBA or did you mean undergrad? You included nothing about your undergrad that is why I ask. Is it a hybrid 4/5 year program or something? You have a compelling background and strong stats that will allow you to apply to honestly any school you want. Definitely unique and would stand out in almost any application pile. I would aim for MIT/LBS/LSE and look into MBA programs as an alternative.

Hi Mba22, I went to a community college prior to Uni, and had to retake classes due to some classes not been accepted ( like organic chemistry a+b,!).

I plan on doing a MSF to get my foot in the door at a finance related role and then doing an MBA hopefully at a top 15 afterwards.

My undergrad is in biology- chemistry. How would i be able to get into one of those programs with a 3.4gpa from a California state school?
