There are a lot of errors
hey guys, this was a MAJOR change ... it was 9 months in the making and I know it introduced a lot of bugs, but that was expected which is why I pleaded for patience here. We aren't Facebook, our dev team is literally 4 developers... that's it and we are trying our best.
When we first made the switch yesterday there were a ton of critical bugs like login issues, social login, mobile app, etc...
since Wed we've fixed a lot of those but there are still a lot of critical functions not yet live including 1) notifications 2) @mentions 3) bell icons ...
New version of mobiel app was pushed today to try and iron out some of those issues and next week is going to have a lot more fixes pushed live...
It's a huge help if you guys can tell us where you're having issues and give us specficis so the dev team can recreate it.
We're trying to keep up and fix as much as possible as fast as possible so please just know that the last few days are not indicative of where we'll be even in 1-2 weeks.

It started sucking with the redesign a couple years ago. Keeps getting worse. I'm like pretty close to leaving just off how nonfunctional the notifications and shit are. Impossible to see your replies more often than not and then when you click it, it doesn't even take you to the comment. like lol why... message boards were perfected like 15 years ago

are you not able to give SBs? I see you have a lot of credits so confused because that's the first I've heard of that bug....

Mobile browser posting is hit-or-miss at best. Sometimes too zoomed in, can’t always edit (either forcibly scrolled below, or even whited out). Not currently getting notifications.
yes, mobile posting is an absolute clusterfuck right now. dev team knows this and we're on it. Thank you. See thread with bug reports for updates as we improve.

New version of mobile app just pushed and notifications are also top of the list...
Please considering rebuilding this forum from ground up instead of incremental patch up changes to a broken core. Something to consider - WSO is great community that should likewise have the strong underpinning like Blind or Reddit apps/web forums have.
Easier said than done man. We have a lot of custom code built into the community and while white labeling something off the shelf sounds nice (especially in times like these when we are fighting through a major back end change), it often limits long term flexibility.

- when mentioned you in comment
- when mentioned you in comment and comment author use alt identity
- when someone reply on your comment
- when someone reply on your comment and use alt identity

Notifications (SBs / replies) are down, which is exhausting. Sounds like you're already aware.

Any chance we can get notifications for the interim period? I don't have any since the 18th even though I found a couple SBs/replies in random thread.
Longer term, I know you have a super lean team but isn't there a way to test before going straight live? Reddit calls this "pushing straight to prod"
