Acceptable Clothing when its cold in the office?
Hello fellow monkeys,
Just for context I am currently interning at a small private equity firm in Mayfair. The problem is I get very cold wearing just a suit and would feel stupid wearing my overcoat at my desk. I was wondering what you guys think would be acceptable / look good. I would just copy the others solutions to this problem but none of the others seem to feel the cold as they are all in shirts and trousers. Occasionally the partners will wear something super casual but I wouldn't feel comfortable being so casual when all the associates are in shirts.
Best

Jumper or pullover under the suit is fine. I suggest round necks or V necks. No cardigans. Even a warm vest is fine. Uniqlo has some nice ones
yes sleeve less patagonia vest you will be THE finance guy. Can be worn under your suit jacket.
sounds like you need a fratagonia vest
Of course he should
Wearing suits in the colder months (fall + early spring) (Originally Posted: 06/10/2013)
How many of you wear a suit to the office instead of wearing a jacket or type of coat? When its too cold to just wear your dress shirt and tie, but not cold enough where you'd need a top coat or something.
Then you simply take the suit jacket off once you get in
Firm is business casual
I'm in a similar position - most of my coworkers don't wear suits, just slacks/shirt/tie optional. But yeah, my spring/summer jacket is just wear a suit except on casual friday.
I do/have. Shirt and tie also looks good w/a nice wool coat (particularly black coat and black slacks).
