Destroy my Resume/CV. IBD Analyst 2020
I'm going to apply for IBD roles for 2020 Analyst positions in London UK. My university isn't that bad (Russell Group) but it is not that good for IB.

There are some formatting errors (too much white space etc) because of me changing up the personal details.
Are you going to apply for full-time positions? If yes, i think it is very diffucult to get full-time offer in IB without prior intersnhips in IB. Also, i think mosf ot the full time offers will go to summer interns
Thanks for taking the time. Yeah, unfortunately, I didn't manage to get an internship, seeing how my applications were in October it's a miracle I managed to get what I did.
I feel like I should only apply for IBD because for example, if I applied for asset management in an investment bank I could just apply for pure asset management companies like Blackrock. I'm still deciding on this because I could apply to Goldman Treasury Analyst as the work seemed interesting (just no client interaction).
I will be applying for summer inteships as a final year because i am in a simmialr situation as you and didn't manage to get IBD internship before. I think most banks aren't strict and will still consider your for summer analyst position (even though you are not a penultimate year). Also, you can mention that you are planning to do masters which will 100% make you eligible for summer internships
Quite good honestly. Just add few more bullet points on the investment fund - ie how you valued companies (DCF, multiples etc). And applying for FT IBD is just suicidal without previous IBD internships, apply for Summer internships/off cycles.
Thanks for your feedback.
About the investment fund, I might open an investment fund for my university under the larger umbrella of the investment fund. Regardless of this, I will be working on it over the summer so I'm definitely going to be adding to it.
I agree that applying for IBD without prior experience in IBD isn't the best idea however, I don't mind working in boutique investment banks because IBD is truly what I want to do. I'm guessing boutiques are less strict.
Could I apply for summer internships as a graduate? Also, for off cycles, most of them seemed to start in January and I don't want to go that long being unemployed when I can get another job in finance.
Well even for boutiques you'll struggle, you're gonna end up at a no name shop following this approach.
Yes you can as a graduate, and some are over the autumn ie JPM/CS.
solid experience and ECs but you will need previous experience in IBD if you are targeting FT roles in 2020 - Finance gig @ Lloyds won't crack it
I would advise you to consider applying for IBD SA starting from Sept - just saying that you intend on doing masters. Most banks will let you start the same year anyways.
