Blackstone Real Estate roles

Hi All,

I am a undergrad in London and I have been notified that Blackstone's RE acquisitions team are interested in interviewing me for an upcoming SA position next year. I was hoping someone with any knowledge could give an overview of what the acquisition team does day-to-day and how it differs from their RE PE and AM teams?

Thanks so much for any help.

Corinthian2:
Pretty sure their REPE group "private" equity investments IS their acquisitions team. Might be helpful to know.

I was a little confused as they have mentioned the two separately (job boards, linkedin etc) and I have seen throughout this forum that some have grouped BREDS and acquisitions together as being below REPE. Just wanted some clarification on this.

I realize this post is from 8 months ago. But in case anyone's still interested, I will be working in REPE this summer at one of the big PE firms. I would say the typical roles for acquisitions team would be modeling, due diligence, creating investment thesis. It's very finance oriented. In contrast, asset management deals with the actual running of the properties that are acquired. This might involve more real estate specific knowledge and tasks. That being said, I think the interviewers for acquisitions teams very much look for real estate knowledge and interest. Firm interest is very important as well.

Remember that REPE is relatively small teams. The smaller the team, the more variable your responsibilities are.
