Sophomore Consulting/IB Internships?!?!
I'm a student at top college (HYPS) with good GPA, solid resume, etc. I'm looking for summer internship opportunities at top ibanks and consulting firms.
Which firms will take sophomores? E.g. JP Morgan seems to have a program, but that seems like a "diversity" program. Thoughts?

As far as consultancies go, never heard of a sophomore intern at MBB. However, several major BBs offer banking/trading internships for sophomores (GS, MS, JPM to name a few). These opportunities aren't always OCR though, so I'd check the firm website and do drops there. Given your background, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting interviews. Good luck
from what i've seen, 90% of the structured programs are "diversity" programs. good luck though
ejh, im in the same boat-from what ive noticed, positions arent necessarily there, but exceptions can be made. id try networking hard and seeing if someone senior in a firm is willing to bend some rules for you
JPMorgan has an Honors Program for Sophs/Freshman who are URM.
Barclays has a Generation Next Internship that is rotational throug IBD, S&T, and IMD for sophomores.
UBS has hired rising juniors as interns in asset management. They also have externship/networking events for rising juniors.
GS - spring break Securities, IBD and IMD programs for standout sophomores from mostly target schools. They also recruit sophomores for certain desks within securities (prime brokerage, securities placed, etc)
MS has a selective sophomore IBD internship - only about 10 interns per year.

JPM Honors isn't diversity so definitely look into it, and for all the diversity programs women are considered diversity if you are female.
But JPM, UBS, GS, MS, CS, BarCap all take Sophs and I know for sure JPM, GS, Barcap and UBS have hired non-diverse candidates
