SWE Interview - Prop Trading
The onsite is pretty standard: working on a problem by designing the solution first, implement later, and walkthrough the code last. Final round involves a discussion with another manager. The manager also asked a lot of the background, similar to the first manager round.
Didn't quite make it because the firm was asking for ultra-low latency background but my background is kind different. Office/people are definitely nice, including all the travel preparation for the on-site.
Senior Software Engineer Interview - Equity Capital Markets
I was asked to implement K-way merge of K sorted arrays, where arrays were to be loaded in a file reader from the disk, and the cadidate was expected to use a min heap. The interviewer was supportive and did follow along.
Quantitative Trader Interview - Quantitative Trading
Quant Intern Interview - Sales and Trading
I had two technical interviews, each about 60 minutes. The first focused on probability and statistics problems. I got a question about Bayes' theorem applied to a practical scenario, which I handled decently but didn't nail completely. There was also a brainteaser-style problem that required some creative thinking.
The second technical round included coding. They had me write code to solve an algorithmic problem on a shared editor. It wasn't overly difficult, but there was definitely pressure to write clean, efficient code. I made a minor optimization error that the interviewer pointed out, which felt a bit humbling. Got rejected after.
