Interview
Reached out by a recruiter in Feb and started the process. First round with the manager discussing my past experience and some basic coding/design problems. The coding is focused on CS fundamentals like tree/map. The design is focused on low-latency systems. Thought did ok and later they asked me to go to the office for an onsite.

The onsite is pretty standard: working on a problem by designing the solution first, implement later, and walkthrough the code last. Final round involves a discussion with another manager. The manager also asked a lot of the background, similar to the first manager round.

Didn't quite make it because the firm was asking for ultra-low latency background but my background is kind different. Office/people are definitely nice, including all the travel preparation for the on-site.

Interview
I recently completed the interview process for a quant intern position at Citadel and wanted to share my experience. Overall, it was a solid but challenging process that felt fairly typical for a top-tier hedge fund.
I had two technical interviews, each about 60 minutes. The first focused on probability and statistics problems. I got a question about Bayes' theorem applied to a practical scenario, which I handled decently but didn't nail completely. There was also a brainteaser-style problem that required some creative thinking.
The second technical round included coding. They had me write code to solve an algorithmic problem on a shared editor. It wasn't overly difficult, but there was definitely pressure to write clean, efficient code. I made a minor optimization error that the interviewer pointed out, which felt a bit humbling. Got rejected after.
Interview Questions
No, pretty typical interview questions, dice questions, etc.

Interview
First OA with coding and probability questions, then two rounds of 45minute interviews, then in person superday. Expect very difficult math questions. Superday was more market-making but requires very sold foundation in math and statistics.
Interview Questions
Extended bayes derivative question about four stones in a bag (black and white stones). You were asked to compute the probability and bet on if you will draw another black stone if the first two stones drawn were black (but you don't know how many were in each bag). Market making and betting skills

Overall, it was chill. He was asking some questions about the probability, especially on the convolution. I intially didn't get the convolution idea behind it but i eventually solved it.
Interview Questions
I think the hardest part of the QR interview is that you really cannot prepare the questions. It is hard to expect what kind of questions they have, if i knew this was about convolutions, i would have answered better.

Interview
Phone interview was 45 min technical. Got asked a harder version of a LC hard similar to parallel courses. Superday was 3x45 min interviews, which ranged from cpp grilling on iterators, memory management, and stl containers such as std::variant, std::vector. After superday came leadership final round. I only had Citadel Securities interested in my profile, leadership call was just resume + behavioral. Recruiter call 2 days after leadership for a quick check in, said my packet is being sent to COO for review. Its been 3 days since then and I've been ghosted lol. All in all, process is going on for over 2 months ago.
Interview Questions
Got grilled hard on cpp/c trivia, even tho my recruiter said the interviews would be dsa focused. Know c++ in depth, review OS and comp arch. Other questions were just lc hards. -> parallel courses & mean sliding window.
