What Is Sales?

Sales is the division within an investment bank which partners with trading to provide services to clients. People working in Sales will interact with their clients on a daily basis and make sure their orders get processed (with the help of traders) and to present new investment opportunities to clients, and can specialise in different fields such as:

  • Commodities
  • Credit
  • Emerging Markets
  • Equities
  • Fixed Income

Working in Sales requires very strong interpersonal skills and being able to interact well with clients so that they trust what you are advising them on and will want to put their deals through you, rather than through any other salesman.
