AM Research Associate Pay

Wondering about 1st year Research associate comp at asset managers - this forum isn't very active, and all the estimates I've seen seem to be around 70k salary +10k bonus from like 2-3+ years ago. Are there any updated data points?

Just to throw my hat in the ring, I have an offer for 1500 a week as an intern at a midsize asset manager, no signing bonus, etc. Prorated+ some other assumptions, I assume that'd be $80k a year + 10-15k bonus. Does this seem right to others? And do others have data points?

$1,500/week as an intern?? Is this as an MBA Intern? If not, you better take that and run. Would love to know where this is at. $40/hr for an intern (based on HR's 37.5 hour work-week) in asset management is unheard of, at least in my experience.

I think 1st year base pay is probably in that $80k +/- $5-10k depending on group and geography, +15k bonus year 1.

Nope, undergrad. I mean I'm not going to be working 37.5 hours a week - I'm probably going to put in at least 50-60 even if it's not required by my firm. I genuinely love the job.

I suppose that's sort of in line with expectations - it's in a HCOL area, think NY, BOS, SF.

Just a thought - I've always thought that AM firms underpay their entry level talent compared to banking. Large firms like Fido + D&C and all that can easily pay $150k+ for 1st year Research Associates.
