Asset management in the Netherlands
I'm planning to apply to UvA for a Msc in econ and want to gain an understanding of what the Dutch job market is like and how hard it is to break in to. I have completed all three levels of the CFA program and have 2+ years in sell side ER. Planning to learn Dutch but i doubt if i can acquire business level proficency in just two years.
Any comments and thoughts would be welcome!! Thanks!

Most Msc programmes in the Netherlands are only one year, so keep that in mind. Having said that, most of the people around here speak perfectly English, which makes working with them no problem. It gets more complicated when it concerns a (Dutch) client facing role, where fluent Dutch is usually required. Me as a Dutchman, I find it surprisingly easy to get interviews with top firms, for which i know my changes of getting one in London or nyc are close to zero. I am not that familiar with the AM sector in specific, but I know a lot of the HQs of global firms situated in the Netherlands hire a vast amount of internationals, especially when u're able to speak a relevant other language as German, French, Italian or Spanish.
So guess the market is not as bad as London or Toronto. Thanks so much!!
