Asset Management Los Angeles

I'm working for a boutique investment management shop and I want to relocate to a firm in LA in the near future. I have some questions for those of you that work in IM in the LA area.

Which firm do you work for?

When does hiring pick up? I imagine that this might be based on when bonuses are paid out or perhaps by having a large pool of analysts that pursue grad school.

How is the career mobility within your firm? Are higher positions limited by school, the need to have an MBA/CFA, etc.

Do you have any additional advice?

Thanks.
