Cold calling in AM?
Sorry if this is kind of a stupid question, but I'm wondering if analysts are expected to cold call leads in AM? I understand that some PWM firms do expect that and some don't. But I'm wondering if AM firms also do the same.
The reason is, I am aiming for a path down AM, but I hate cold calling. I did it for a summer for a private jet chartering service, and I did get decent at it. But it was a soul-crushing experience that I hated every moment. I enjoy talking to people, but I just really don't enjoy calling people in that way.
Depends on your role. Research is much different than sales and even sales has much different positions within retail and institutional in terms of the sales cycle and how that relates to outbound calls
So some sales roles do indeed cold call leads for a good part of the day?
