Current Ivy Freshman - Cold Emaling Local Firms for Summer Internship

Hi all,

I live in a medium-sized city with numerous different AM firms. However, very few offer formal internship opportunities. Over winter break, my goal is to cold-email these firms to inquire about potential internship opportunities.

I have a solid CV with demonstrated interest in AM. What skills can I improve and focus on to "prove my worth" to intern this summer? Is this a good strategy to land something this summer?
