So let's say there is a team responsible for managing investment funds, and that team consists of portfolio managers and data scientists. How would the relation between the pm's and data scientists be. Do the data scientists have a say in the investment process (and therefore are possibly up for promotion to pm), or are they (ab)used as the tech nerds doing the boring stuff the pm's don't want to do?
