Exit Opps for Entry Level Analyst/FX Trader
Hi all, I am just hoping someone can put this into perspective. I have the potential to get offered at a small Asset Management shop ($10bb) as an associate analyst. I also have an opportunity at a large dealer in Forex as a Trader. Both of these would be my first full time gig.
My question is what sort of career track would each potentially lead up to? Or what do the next steps look like out of each? Also, I am kind of just wondering if any of you were offered both, which one would you take?. I am beyond obsessed and passionate about the bond market and would like to end up at a credit fund. I am doing the CFA and realize that won't help much in FX, but for now I plan to stick with it. Hopefully someone who had either career track may be able to chime in.

I've come to realize that you will almost never get the privilege of choosing which product you want to work with. You just have to take what you can get and be happy that you have a job in finance in this economy. Anyway, it seems that you basically have to decide between ER and trading. The career paths are vastly different, so choose carefully. I'm still figuring out my interests myself, so I would like to hear other people's thoughts as well.
